sea burial+

sea burial+ is a sea burial system that consist of an urn and a virtual columbarium. The urn called +urn is one that spins while sinking, allowing it to maintain its trajectory while descending and the location is recorded in the virtual columbarium to be documented for future use.

This thesis project aim to explore possibilities of enhancing the experience of sea burial by weaving science and technology into the topic of death.

SP3 - IOL Injector

SP3 is an intraocular lens injector that can be operated with a single hand, allowing the surgeon to stabilize the eye with another tool. By incorporating a specialized tip in its plunger, SP3 eliminates the need of requiring an additional tool to reposition the lens after injecting.

This project is done with Sylvia Ang Kai Xin in collaboration with Singapore National Eye Centre. Patent Pending (TEC-12-22-Device for Single Handled Injection of an Intraocular Lens)

bench is constructed of out the wood salvaged from the benches of the Old National Stadium, bonded seamlessly with adhesive. The weathered texture of the wood on the top surface is retained to preserve 34 years of its service to the occupants of the Old National Stadium.

bench. was my submission to Bench: Remembering the National Stadium, a bench design competition jointly organised by Urban Development Authorities and FARM. It was selected as one of the 5 open category winners to be produced and exhibited. It is currently exhibited in the lobby of The URA Centre.


HAND is a hand surgery simulator that allows young surgeons to learn and practice surgical procedures like syndactyly release and z-plasty before performing it for the first time.

Designed with Loren Lim, in collaboration with National University Hospital, Department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery.

HAND was produced and used for a course that was held in National University Hospital for the first time to teach young surgeons Z-Plasty and Syndactyly Release on 16 November 2013.
